Maximising Small Spaces: The Modular Walk-In Solution for a Family Ensuite

When Georgina set out to renovate her ensuite, she needed a solution that complemented her modern aesthetic while making the most of the available space. Here’s how the Modular Walk-In Collection helped bring her vision to life.
After outgrowing their first home, Georgina and her husband purchased a 1990s four-bedroom detached house in 2020, giving their family some much-needed space. The couple wasted no time, taking on most of the renovations themselves to turn the house into their dream family home.
The ensuite, however, was far down the list of priorities. To freshen it up in the meantime, they gave it a coat of paint and new flooring. But as the rest of the house took shape with a modern, cohesive style, the ensuite began to feel out of place.
Speaking of the project, Georgina, from Instagram’s @georginaraineinteriors, commented: “The space was very small and not very well utilised, as a corner of it was home to my daughter’s built in bedroom cupboard. When the old shower leaked right through to our brand-new kitchen underneath, we decided a full renovation was needed!”
At just 2m x 1.3m, the space required a complete transformation, including the removal of the built-in cupboard, stripping the walls and ceiling back to the bare bones, and installing new plumbing.
Georgina’s vision was to create a bright, contemporary ensuite with a hint of Scandinavian warmth and simplicity – an elegant, spa-like retreat that was also practical for everyday use.
The showering space became the focal point of the room, and Georgina chose the new Modular Walk-In Collection for its unmatched flexibility and durability.

For a contemporary finish, Georgina opted for Brushed Brass, which beautifully complements the elegant marble-look wall panels and checkerboard flooring.
