Lakes Bathrooms is proud to announce that managing director Robin Craddock has won the ‘Next Generation Family Achiever’ award as part of Cotswold Life Family Business Awards. Selected and chosen by a panel of judges, Robin has been recognised for his role in leading the success of the Lakes family business. The awards aim to identify and applaud the best representative family businesses in a number of categories, to pay tribute to this backbone of the British economy, which contributes almost a quarter of Britain’s total GDP.
Robin Craddock created Lakes Bathrooms with his father Alan, who is now chairman. The company, a market leading manufacturer in the bathroom industry, operates by family values and a customer-centred ethos. With a market-winning mix of high quality products at affordable prices, the business has grown with the expanding trend in showering, designing and manufacturing a range of shower enclosures, bath screens, bathroom accessories and bathroom furniture (including those for all inclusive bathrooms). Fuelling this growth has been Robin’s strategy of continuous innovation. He has instigated many firsts within not only the company, but within the bathroom industry, such as the introduction of a revolutionary, high-tech stay clean glass coating, supplied as standard on the company’s products. This creative development continues and in 2014 the company plans to launch a wide range of new products, including many new shower enclosure designs.
Today, Lakes Bathrooms delivers to over 1100 bathroom retailers, the merchant trade, house builders and developers. Formed in 1986, the company has grown, with year on year success, to an expected annual turnover to May 2014 in excess of £12.5 million. The company employs 67 staff in the UK and has its headquarters in Tewkesbury; at its wholly-owned site of 2.75 acres. Beyond its scope in the UK and Eire, Robin has driven investment in world-class manufacturing facilities in China. From this Far Eastern base, the company is now building international export links with global potential for the products designed in Gloucestershire.
The awards will feature in the July 2014 edition of Cotswold Life and a celebratory lunch follows where award-winners will be treated by the publishers of this prestigious regional publication.
